The journal Educational Research Advances (ISSN: 3106-3632; eISSN: 3106-3624) cordially invites scholars from around the world to submit manuscripts for an upcoming special issue titled “Parenting and Child Development.”

The family is the primary context for children’s growth and development. Parenting practices and family interactions exert profound and long-lasting influences on children’s cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioral development. To advance the understanding of this core topic, this special issue seeks to bring together cutting-edge research from diverse perspectives. It illuminates the mechanisms and influencing factors of parenting, as well as the complex relationships between parenting practices and child developmental outcomes, thereby promoting both theoretical advancement and practical innovation.

We welcome original empirical research articles from psychology, education, sociology, neuroscience, and related fields. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Parenting styles and practices and their short- and long-term effects on children’s/adolescents’ adjustment and development
  • The role of cultural, socioeconomic, and environmental factors in parenting
  • Parent-child relationships, attachment dynamics, and children’s psychosocial development
